The Unicorner Times is a student-led publication from Tashkent that explores economics, design, innovation and civic life across Central Asia and the world. We publish longform features, sharp essays, and interviews that aim to inform practice and spark conversation.

Our Story

Founded in 2022 by a group of students and young researchers, The Unicorner Times started as a weekly newsletter and gradually grew into a collaborative newsroom. We publish with care — sourcing primary interviews, data-informed reporting, and thoughtful analysis. Our editorial approach combines rigorous inquiry with human stories.

We believe journalism should illuminate complexity and support civic conversation. We centre local voices while connecting them to global debates, paying special attention to economic inclusion, urban change, and design-led public policy.
